I like Penises and Vaginas in my Erotica

I can’t really say why I’m perfectly happy with these words. Is it because I have mixed with loads of people who work in clinical jobs so these kinds of terms are part of our every day language?

The sociologist in me wonders if the language we are comfortable with relates to age, social class, level of educational attainment, or where you are in the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I like a moist pussy, a big dick or a hard cock, just as much as the next reader and writer of smut. I’m just saying I’m perfectly happy to call a vulva and vulva without it detracting from the heat of the moment (as my darling partner will testify).

Review: Brit Boys: On Boys (hot M/M book bundle)

Brit Boys: On Boys (a hot m/m bundle) IT’S ONLY 99p!!

If you’re anything like me, you get boxed sets and book bundles recommended to you all the time on Amazon. I’ve bought a few, 99p is a good deal for 5 or 6 books and even if I only like one of the stories I still think that’s ok, you take a chance on these things. Sometimes I’ve even found decent new authors – bonus!

Now Brit Boys: On Boys is a totally different kettle of fish. Every single story in this collection is at least really good, some are fantastic. That all comes down to personal preference. But what is constant throughout is the quality of writing. Plus they’re really very steamy and I like that a lot.

It’s got a sexy mechanic, hunky marines, a delicious actor and a vamp that you’d offer your own neck up…

My First Novel

After surgery to remove stuff that didn’t belong there and some additional words my “nano” F/M romance in post apocalyptic dystopia novel currently rests at 44,000.  Including “The End”.  I was aiming for over 50k and I’m not 100% happy with it so I’m just considering options:

1. Work flat out on it for the next few day.

2. Work on something else for a few days then come back see how I feel.

At least this one is in the shape of a finished novel, which is quite an achievement.

The other one is currently 30,000 words and nowhere near finished.  There’s loads in my head that I haven’t even noted down so I hope I don’t forget these brilliant ideas. In fact, notes, that is what I should do today.

Related short stories

I also have two short stories in progress from these novels.  Stories or points of view that did not fit in to the novels.  so overall the progress of written words about my world is going well and it may be that they all end up being published around the same time.

Currently written about the Matriarch Dystopia approx: 80,000 words.

Debut Dystopia Novel Epiphany

Last night I went to bed with my 50,000 word romance novel almost finished.  Well it is finished, I have written The End. I have almost completed the second draft and editing. I though two more days and I’d be ready to reveal my mater piece.

This morning I realised I have not got a finished romance novel at all. 😦

I have two half written books instead.

Many silver linings to this cloud.

1. I noticed the BIG errors in the way I had put the work together without wasting my time submitting this to publishing houses, etc.

2. I might not have one book finished but I do like what I’ve written and by shuffling up the chapters it means I’m more than halfway on two related books set in the same dystopian universe (I think I’ve about 75,000 words written towards the two books and I was aiming at 50k each).

Are you wondering what was the problem? Let me tell you anyway.

There is a dystopian world in my head, it has been there a very long time, years, so I know it really well. My first book (the one I thought was almost finished) is essentially a M/F erotic romance set in that world. I have other stories in my mind also set in that world focusing on different characters and with F/F and M/M relationships.  There are also elements of corruption with the dystopia, problems that become apparent within the stories and the characters have to find their own way through these challenges.

The problem is that in my head I have many characters and stories.  Today I realised that there is too much of another character’s story spilling into the finished book when it actually belongs in the one that is half written.  I don’t want to call it a sequel because the events take place within the same time frame.

I’ve been watching the Saw Films, if you have seen them and had to look up what on earth Saw 4 was all about (as I did) then you might understand I got a bit lost in the complexity of it all.

Thing is I love my characters and the story but I need to pull it apart to make it work (for readers, it works fine in my head).

OK. Now to take down the Xmas decorations and then I’m going to write a new plan so I can bring both books to completion.

should i rephrase that?
